Camping du Nord – Pioneer in sustainable, digital and guest-focused tourism
Camping du Nord is a family-run campsite located in the heart of Luxembourg’s Öewersauer Nature Park. Our mission is to offer a modern and environmentally conscious camping experience, with genuine hospitality and a deep connection to nature.
What makes us unique?
- Sustainability first:
We are proud holders of the EcoLabel Silver and continuously work to reduce our ecological impact.
Our campsite is powered by solar energy stored in a 50 kW Pixii battery system, which relieves pressure on the grid and allows for smart energy management. This project was supported by the House of Sustainability as part of our broader environmental strategy.
We use solar thermal systems for hot water in our sanitary buildings and save water with technologies like the Easy-Be dishwasher. We also installed off-grid solar lighting (Solar Woodles) that provides ambient lighting without any grid connection—also supported by the House of Sustainability.
Our commitment to sustainability was highlighted during the national EcoLabel conference, where Camping du Nord was presented as a model for energy-efficient and ecological innovation:

Together with the Öewersauer Nature Park, we plant native trees, flowers, and create insect-friendly zones to boost biodiversity.
- Digital innovation:
Guests use our Camping App to order fresh bread, Thai meals, and pizzas, or to check in digitally. The app also functions as an activity planner and local guide. Heating in our accommodations is controlled by smart thermostats (ICY system), which saves energy and improves comfort. - Guest experience and service:
We offer a wide range of accommodations – from nature pitches to compact wooden lodges with private bathrooms. During the season, guests can enjoy freshly prepared Thai meals from our food truck, with vegetarian and vegan options.
We place great emphasis on personal contact, efficient service and an honest, nature-based experience. About 60% of our guests return annually, reflecting trust and satisfaction.
Our impact
Camping du Nord has become a national reference in sustainable camping. By combining smart technology, ecological responsibility and genuine hospitality, we prove that tourism can not only be sustainable, but actively contribute to accelerating environmental goals.
Thanks to this approach, we are not only EcoLabel certified, but also a proud Bed+Bike site, Leading Quality Region Hiking Partner, and official partner of the Öewersauer Nature Park.
