Playground Café is a unique family concept located in Roost (Bissen), Luxembourg, that combines a modern café atmosphere with a safe, creative indoor playground for children aged 0–10. Opened in December 2024, it was born from the real-life need of young parents to find a space where children can play freely while adults can relax, enjoy a good coffee, and connect with others.
What sets Playground Café apart is its intentional focus on human connection: no digital distractions. Instead, we offer a space where families can slow down, connect, and make meaningful memories—together.
Our café offers a warm, open-space layout that allows visibility between the seating area and play zones. We are intentionally screen-free, encouraging families to put down their devices and enjoy quality time together. We believe that the best memories are created in real life, not on screens. This is why our environment is designed to spark joy, laughter, and meaningful connection—for both children and adults.
Luxembourg is a multicultural country where many families are expatriates. One of our core missions is to help these families feel at home. Often living far from relatives and traditional support systems, many parents feel isolated. Playground Café becomes a community space where new friendships are born, mutual support happens naturally, and people from different backgrounds feel welcomed and seen.
Luxembourg is a vibrant, multicultural country where many residents are expatriates who often raise children far from extended family and traditional support networks. Our café has quickly become a social anchor for these families—a place where friendships are made, support is shared, and everyone is welcomed regardless of background or language.
Beyond the daily café and play experience, Playground Café also acts as a community hub. We regularly organize family-focused activities such as casual meetups, seasonal celebrations, and creative experiences that promote interaction between children and adults alike. These events are designed to encourage spontaneous connections and build community in an organic, inclusive way.
Tourists visiting the region have also discovered Playground Café. We’re located just 15 minutes from popular camping areas and easily accessible by car and we offer free parking. Families traveling through Luxembourg from neighboring countries like France, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands have found in us a restful and joyful stopover. Many of them leave us heartfelt feedback, telling us how special it is to find a place that welcomes their whole family and feels “just like home.”
We are a small business with a big heart—and we believe that tourism is not just about sightseeing, but also about feeling connected to a place and its people. Our contribution to the tourism landscape of Luxembourg is precisely this: a deeply human, local, and heartfelt experience for families of all cultures.
